Sebouh and Shawnt Bazikian

In our November 6, 2013 show, we told you about Sebouh Bazikian of Glendale, California, who discovered that 15 percent of Sub-Saharan Africa's 20 million orphans -- that's 3 million kids -- commit suicide by age 18 to escape lives of poverty, crime, prostitution, and sexual slavery.

After traveling to the Machao Orphanage in Makueni, Kenya, and walking two hours with the barefoot orphans through garbage, glass, and burning trash, Sebouh founded Bikes 4 Oprhans to provide these children with fast, safe transportation to and from school.

Bicycles can open doorways of opportunity and give children a chance for a brighter future. Sebouah and Shawnt believe teenagers can make a difference in this world and this is our way of combining our passion for cycling with charity.

Sebouh and his brother, Shawnt, who has been running Bikes 4 Orphans since Sebouh began college, join us today to talk about their firsthand experiences helping orphaned children.
