Daniel Fine

Back in 2004, Jake Fine was diagnosed with Type 1 Juvenile Diabetes at the age of 7.   His 11-year-old brother, Daniel, jumped into action to found Team Brotherly Love. He wanted to make sure that his brother felt "normal" and that diabetes was not holding him back.

Team Brotherly Love is dedicated to the cause of fighting Type I Juvenile Diabetes. On the surface, they are an organization devoted to “Saving Lives & Finding A Cure” for those with Type-1 Diabetes, but they also strive to achieve something else --- to achieve something that cannot be measured in dollars, lives, nor hours. Through raising money and awareness, they teach the concept of philanthropy to the hundreds of kids who participate in our various endeavors including Lacrosse Against Diabetes, Fine Friends, Dollars for Diabetes, and Kicks for Ca$h...but most importantly, they teach the power of community. Their efforts have extended globally, supporting clinics in both Bolivia and Nigeria.

Jake is busy with meetings this morning, but we are honored to welcome Daniel to today's show to tell us about the incredible impact their organization has had in the battle against Juvenile Diabetes. Daniel was named one of TIME Magazine's Top 25 International Leaders of Tomorrow and one of the World's Top 5 Entrepreneurs by the Entrepreneurs Organization, received the President's Volunteer Service Award from President Bush and again from President Obama, and is the Founder and Chairman of the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation’s Youth Board of Advisors among MANY other titles and honors.
