Carter Kostler

Carter Kostler is a 15-year-old 10th grader from Virginia Beach, Virginia who has taken childhood obesity head on. After learning about the startling statistics of how sugary drinks and soda impact today’s youth, he decided to do something about it. Carter created a fruit-infused water bottle, a product designed with the goal of improving one’s health and was recognized by Entrepreneur Magazine as one of the most brilliant companies of 2013.  Carter invented the Define Bottle when he was 13 years old and took it from design to prototype in just six months.

Carter is proud to have been a national finalist in Michelle Obama’s Partnership for a Healthier America’s End Childhood Obesity Innovation Challenge. He was honored by President Clinton at the 2013 Clinton Foundation Health Matters Conference.

Carter’s mission to stamp out obesity and Type 2 diabetes has been featured in multiple health and wellness publications including Forbes, Fortune, Entrepreneur, Inc.com and local and national news publications. He has been a guest on Good Morning America, E News and HSN.

Last year, Carter got to pitch the Define Bottle to a panel of five Sharks in Shark Tank episode 516 – the Young Entrepreneurs Special.

He continues to support the Alliance for a Healthier Generation and donates a portion of all profits to the Alliance. Carter is active in the community, working with schools and organizations such as the American Diabetes Association.
