Tharon Trujillo

Tharon Trujillo

Today's Peace Fund Radio Hero of the Week first vaulted into the public eye at age 9, when he and his father invented the award-winning -- and now utterly ubiquitous -- Lock 'N Block Sliding Door Gate for the safety of infants and small children. He also won the Sikorsky Innovator Award in 2011 to design the helicopter of the future by proposing a rotor-craft that can deliver supplies and even electricity to areas afflicted by natural disasters.

Today, he continues to Protect, Educate, and Aid Children Everywhere in his own unique way via Tru Kidz, a non-profit organization he founded to "empower young people through youth development, leadership, creative thinking, communications, and service."  Today, he is a motivational speaker for youth. He talks to youth about bullying, innovation, STEM, self character, and how one person can make a difference in the world.

Tharon joins us today to talk about his journey, his mission, and the obstacles he overcame along the way.

Tharon Trujillo has appeared in the following PEACE Fund Radio episodes:
