Breaking 27

Breaking 27

Breaking 27” is a group of 12 and 13 year-olds who originally started out almost 4 years ago as “The Rockaholix” with Max, Charlotte, Edan, Kailey and Sophie.  The name "Breaking 27" is a respectful nod to the infamous group of music legends who have died too young at the age of 27.  The name serves as a memorial, as well as a declaration.  Edan has moved to Vermont and Ryan is now the guitarist for the band.

The band understands that music is power... as they have used it with the admirable purpose of bringing awareness of the bully problem in our schools. Along with their producer, Mark Dutton they recorded an original song and shot a video that addressed the issue.  The song is titled "We Like to Watch", and part of the proceeds from its sale will be donated to thebullyproject.com.  The remaining proceeds are being used to fund their “Break the Bully Tour”.

Lee Hirsch, creator and director of the critically acclaimed documentary "Bully", has given his full support to the band.  Additionally, they were named "Upstanders of the Week" by The Bully Project

The group joins us in the studio today to perform their song.
