Erin Gray saved the galaxy time and time again as ace space pilot Colonel Wilma Dearing on BUCK ROGERS IN THE 25TH CENTURY, and she's just as much a hero away from cameras as she is in front of them. She's in the studio today to talk to Adrian Paul and Ethan Dettenmaier about how she channeled her own experiences with domestic violence into serving as a spokeswoman for the National Coalition Against Domestic Violence, working as an advocate for the Haven House shelter for battered women, instructing ancient arts such as Qi Gong and Tai Chi, and founding her own agency, Heroes for Hire, to book science fiction and fantasy stars for personal appearances, speaking engagements, and charity events.

In our Hero of the Week segment, John Bierly talks about several of our past Heroes who popped up as winners and finalists of the 2013 Gloria Barron Prize for Young Heroes and shares a link for the new documentary about 9-year-old Peace Fund Radio Hero Vivienne Harr and her efforts to combat child slavery around the world. And then we learn about our new Heroes, Ricky and Rishana Amar from Trinidad and Tobago, who joined with other kids to form Random Acts of Good Deeds. They work hard to protect, educate, and aid children who are victims of poverty and child abuse while seeking to inspire all kids to live rewarding lives of social responsibility, community development, and personal and moral excellence.
